GameStop Power Packs — official banner, everything you need to know

These are the questions that come up most often — in chat, in DMs, and from first-timers who want to understand the whole picture before they commit. Everything is written to be accurate as of April 2026; fees and policies are subject to change, so always verify current terms at psacard.com and powerpacks.com.

Eligibility & Getting Started

How old do I need to be to buy a Power Pack?

You must be 18 or older to purchase a GameStop Power Pack. This applies globally — there are no regional exceptions.

Do I need a PSA Vault account to buy a Power Pack?

It depends on how you're participating. If you purchase directly at powerpacks.com, a PSA Vault is automatically created for you — no separate setup needed. If you book a pull through Roaring Sensei's streams, you'll need to provide your PSA Collectors ID and email address. You can get these from either your powerpacks.com account, or by creating a free account at psacard.com.

Where do I book a pack slot?

Slots are booked through the Roaring Sensei homepage. Select your tier, complete the checkout, and your name goes on the list for the next scheduled stream.

Is Power Packs available in my country?

Direct purchase on powerpacks.com is currently available to US residents. Separately, Roaring Sensei — a GameStop Ambassador — streams Power Packs live on YouTube, X, and Twitch. His streams are open to anyone, anywhere in the world: you can watch for free, book a pull, or enter a tournament regardless of where you live. When booking, you'll need to provide your PSA Collectors ID and email address — you can get these from either your powerpacks.com account, or by creating a free account at psacard.com. PSA Vault storage and worldwide shipping are available globally — a base withdrawal fee of $1.99 per item applies, plus the shipping fee ($5.99 US / $24.99 Canada / $31.99 international).

Do I pay sales tax?

No. GameStop Power Packs are sold out of Delaware, which has no state sales tax. There is no sales tax charged at the point of purchase regardless of where you're located in the US.

Tiers & Pricing

What tiers are available?

There are six tiers: Starter ($25), Silver ($50), Gold ($100), Platinum ($500), Diamond ($1,000), and Lunar ($2,500). Higher tiers draw from higher value-band card pools, giving you better odds of a high-value pull — but the card assignment within each band is always random.

Where can I see the odds for each tier?

GameStop publishes the value-band distribution percentages for each tier at powerpacks.com. These show what percentage of cards fall into each price range — check there for the most current data.

Can I buy multiple packs in the same stream?

Yes — you can book multiple slots across different tiers or the same tier. Each slot gets its own separate card assignment and reveal.

Money & Fees

What payment methods are accepted?

Card payments (Visa, Mastercard — any card, processed via Revolut) and bank transfer via Wise. No PayPal.

Live Streams & Bookings

Do I need to watch the stream to get my card?

No. Your card is transferred to your PSA Vault regardless of whether you're watching live. Being there is the fun part, not a requirement. If you miss the stream, the card will be in your vault and the VOD replay will be on YouTube.

Can I watch without booking a pack?

Absolutely. Streams are free to watch on YouTube, Twitch, and X. You don't need any booking to join the chat, participate in giveaways, or just enjoy the reveals. Many regular viewers have never booked a pack.

Where can I watch?

YouTube (@RoaringSensei), Twitch (Roaring Sensei), and X (@RoaringSensei). The stream is identical on all three platforms — pick whichever one you prefer.

How do I know when the next stream is?

Stream dates are posted on the Roaring Sensei homepage and announced on all socials a few days in advance. Setting a YouTube reminder is the easiest way to not miss one.

When's the booking deadline for a stream?

12 hours before the stream goes live. Higher tiers (Platinum, Diamond, Lunar) often sell out well before the cutoff — book early if you have a specific tier in mind.

How long do streams usually run?

Typically 3–5 hours depending on format. Relaxed rip streams run shorter (around 3 hours), tournament and giveaway-focused streams often run closer to 5.

PSA Vault

What is the PSA Vault?

The PSA Vault is a secure, climate-controlled storage facility operated by PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator). Cards are physically stored there and insured against loss and damage. You access and manage your cards digitally via your PSA account. There's no annual storage fee for Power Pack cards.

How long can I leave my card in the vault?

Cards can remain in the PSA Vault indefinitely at no charge. There's no time pressure to ship or sell — you can hold until you decide what to do.

Is my card insured while it's in the vault?

Yes. PSA provides insurance coverage for cards in vault storage against loss and damage. Specific coverage limits are governed by PSA's terms — check psacard.com for current details.

What is vault-to-vault transfer?

Vault-to-vault transfer is a pilot feature available on Roaring Sensei streams that allows a card to be transferred directly between PSA Vault accounts, bypassing the physical shipping step. This is currently a unique arrangement specific to this creator's streams. Not all creators offer this. Cards transferred this way move digitally and remain authenticated and graded.

Shipping Your Card Home

How much does shipping cost?

When you withdraw a card from the PSA Vault, a base withdrawal fee of $1.99 per item applies, plus the shipping fee: $5.99 for US addresses, $24.99 for Canada, and $31.99 for international destinations. The true per-card cost is $7.98 US, $26.98 Canada, or $33.98 international. The shipping fee covers up to 50 cards per shipment — if you have multiple cards, batching them saves significantly on the per-shipment shipping fee (though the $1.99 withdrawal fee still applies per card).

How long does shipping take?

US domestic: approximately 3–7 business days. Canada: approximately 1–2 weeks. International: approximately 1–3 weeks depending on destination and customs processing time.

Will I have to pay customs or import duties?

Possibly, depending on your country. UK buyers may owe VAT (20%) plus a handling fee of roughly £8–12 from the carrier. EU buyers face 19–25% VAT depending on the country. Canadian buyers may owe GST/PST/HST. Australian buyers face 10% GST on imports above AU$1,000. These fees are the buyer's responsibility and are not included in the shipping fee.

What if my card arrives damaged?

Contact PSA support immediately with photos of the damage and the original packaging. PSA provides insurance coverage for damage during transit. Document everything as soon as you open the package — don't discard packaging before making a claim.

Can I ship multiple cards at once?

Yes. You can ship up to 50 cards in a single shipment for one flat shipping fee. If you have multiple cards in the vault from different streams, batch them into one request to save on fees.

Selling Your Card

What is Instant Buyback?

Instant Buyback is the fastest way to convert your card to cash. PSA offers you 90% of the current Card Ladder value, then takes a 6% selling fee — so your net is approximately 84% of Card Ladder. The offer is available for 7 days after your card arrives in the vault. It disappears if you request shipping, create a listing, or accept another offer.

How does selling via eBay through PSA work?

PSA can list your card on eBay on your behalf directly from the vault — no need to ship it to yourself first. eBay's combined fee (marketplace fee + payment processing) is typically 12–15% depending on card value, category, and seller status. Your card stays insured in the vault until it sells and ships to the buyer. This route usually gets you more than Instant Buyback but requires 1–4 weeks of waiting.

What is Card Ladder?

Card Ladder is an automated pricing tool that aggregates recent eBay sale data to produce real-time market valuations for PSA-graded cards. It updates in near real-time. Both the live reveal value and Instant Buyback calculations are based on Card Ladder. Learn more in the dedicated guide: What Is Card Ladder Valuation?

Do I have to pay tax on what I earn from selling?

Potentially. In the US, eBay is required to issue a 1099-K to US sellers above IRS-set thresholds — these have changed in recent years, so consult a tax professional for the current figure. UK, EU, and Canadian sellers are subject to their own reporting rules. This is not financial or tax advice — consult a tax professional for guidance specific to your situation.

Cards & Grading

What condition are the cards in?

All Power Pack cards are real, PSA-authenticated slabs — every card is graded, authenticated, and encased by PSA. The specific grade you receive can be anywhere on PSA's 1–10 scale; no minimum grade is guaranteed.

What does the PSA grade number mean?

PSA grades run from 1 (Poor) to 10 (Gem Mint). A PSA 10 is a virtually perfect card — the highest grade and the most valuable. PSA 9 is Near Mint/Mint and still commands strong premiums. See the full breakdown: PSA Grading Scale Explained.

What sets do Power Pack cards come from?

The card pool spans a wide range of Pokémon TCG sets — from modern sets to vintage cards including rare Neo and WOTC-era pulls. GameStop's card pool rotates over time. You won't know the specific set in advance, only the value band your tier draws from.

What's the difference between Standard, Buck's Binder On Fire, and Buck's Binder MVPs packs?

Standard Pokémon packs draw from all characters across every Pokémon set. Buck's Binder — On Fire packs contain Charizard and other fire-type Pokémon exclusively, drawn from all sets. Buck's Binder — MVPs packs feature PSA-graded cards from US sports — basketball, baseball, football — available Starter ($25) through Diamond ($1,000). You pick the pack type and the tier together at booking.

Safety & Disputes

Is this legitimate? How do I know the cards are real?

Every card is authenticated and graded by PSA — one of the most respected grading authorities in the hobby. Cards are stored in tamper-evident PSA slabs with a unique certification number you can verify at psacard.com. GameStop is a publicly listed US retailer. Roaring Sensei is a GameStop Ambassador with a verifiable stream history — every reveal is on camera.

What if I have a dispute about my order?

For issues with the booking or payment, contact Roaring Sensei via the contact form. For issues with the PSA Vault — card not transferred, damage, shipping problems — contact PSA support directly at psacard.com. Both channels are responsive; use the right one for the right type of issue.

What if the Card Ladder value shown on stream doesn't match what I see later?

Card Ladder updates in near real-time based on live eBay sale data, so values can shift between when the card is revealed on stream and when you check your vault. The value shown during the reveal is a snapshot in time — Instant Buyback will use the current Card Ladder value at the moment you accept the offer, not the reveal-moment value. Market values are estimates, not guarantees.

Can I get a refund?

Once a pack slot is booked and allocated, refunds are not typically available — the card assignment process begins when slots are confirmed. If you have exceptional circumstances, reach out via the contact form before the stream date. Post-reveal refunds are not available, as the card has already been delivered to your vault.

Still have a question? Reach out via the contact form or drop it in chat during the next stream. The community is genuinely helpful for getting quick answers.
