When you open a Power Pack — whether you rip it yourself on the platform or watch it opened live on a creator's stream — the card inside doesn't get mailed to you immediately. It goes to the PSA Vault. And for a lot of new collectors, that's where the confusion starts.
This guide explains exactly what the PSA Vault is, how your Power Pack card gets there, and every option you have once it arrives.
What Is the PSA Vault?
The PSA Vault is PSA's professional storage and management facility for graded collectibles. Think of it as a secure bank vault purpose-built for trading cards. Your card is physically held in a modern, climate-controlled facility in Delaware, USA, with 24/7 security, full insurance coverage, and asset tracking.
When you open a Power Pack, your card is instantly registered to your PSA Vault account. You can see it in your dashboard, view its grade, check its market value, and decide what to do with it — all from your phone or computer.
How Does a Card Get Into Your Vault?
The path depends on how you're accessing Power Packs.
US buyers — direct via powerpacks.com
The process is fully automatic. Here's the timeline:
- You sign up and purchase a Power Pack at powerpacks.com — your PSA Vault is created automatically during sign-up
- The pack is opened — the card inside is revealed
- The card is instantly transferred to your PSA Vault account
- You receive a notification and can view the card in your vault dashboard
There's no waiting period for the vault transfer itself. With Power Packs, the card was already physically in PSA's possession before you opened the pack — the digital reveal simply assigns ownership to your account.
Participating in a Roaring Sensei stream pull
Anyone — US or international — can book a pack to be opened live on a Roaring Sensei stream. Roaring Sensei pulls the pack live, the card lands in his PSA Vault first, then it's transferred to your vault, sold on your behalf, or shipped directly to you — your choice.
What About Stream Reveals?
Roaring Sensei is a GameStop Ambassador who streams Power Packs live. His streams are open to anyone worldwide — US viewers participate too. When you book a pack to be opened live on a Roaring Sensei stream, I pull the pack on stream and the card lands in my PSA Vault first. From there, you have three options for what happens to your card:
- Vault-to-vault transfer — the card is moved directly into your own PSA Vault account. Through my working relationship with PSA, I've been given access to this as a pilot feature. Currently, I'm the only creator running this service. Transfer usually takes a couple of weeks, sometimes faster.
- Sold on your behalf — if you'd rather take the cash, I can sell the card and send you the proceeds.
- Physically shipped to you — I can ship the card directly to you through my setup.
When booking, you'll need to provide your PSA Collectors ID and email address. You can get these from either your powerpacks.com account, or by creating a free account at psacard.com.
The vault-to-vault option means:
- You don't lose the PSA grade or the cert
- You don't have to pay shipping unless you want it shipped home
- You get the full ownership experience, vault-first
- No selling-and-sending workaround
Booking through Roaring Sensei's stream gives you vault-to-vault transfer — your card lands in your own PSA account without leaving PSA's custody, which no other creator is currently offering. Open to anyone, worldwide.
What Can You Do With a Card in Your Vault?
Once a card is in your vault, you have several options:
Keep It Stored
Leave it exactly where it is. Your card remains in PSA's insured, climate-controlled facility. There's no rush to do anything — and for anything high-value, professional storage is safer than keeping slabs at home.
Ship It Home
Request a withdrawal and have the card shipped to your address. A base withdrawal fee of $1.99 per item applies, plus the shipping fee set at checkout based on destination — $5.99 US, $24.99 Canada, $31.99 international — covering up to 50 items per shipment. That makes the true per-card cost $7.98 US, $26.98 Canada, or $33.98 international when shipping a single card. Cards are packed professionally and insured in transit.
Sell Through Power Packs
Three routes, in order:
- Instant Buyback (first 7 days). Power Packs offers to buy the card back at 90% of its Card Ladder value, minus a 6% selling fee — roughly 84% of current market value. Fast, guaranteed, no listing needed. The offer lasts 7 days and disappears if you list the card elsewhere or request shipping.
- PSA-via-eBay (after the 7-day window). List your card on eBay through PSA's integrated platform. PSA handles fulfilment. Fees are tiered — around 13% on mid-range sales, with a $3 minimum.
- PSA Offers. Accept direct purchase offers from verified collectors and dealers in PSA's marketplace.
Is the Vault Secure?
Yes. PSA stores cards in their Delaware facility with:
- 24/7 security monitoring
- Climate-controlled environment — temperature and humidity regulated to prevent card degradation
- Full insurance coverage — your cards are insured against damage, theft, or loss while in the vault
- Digital tracking — every card has a unique cert number and is individually tracked in the system
For most collectors, the vault is genuinely safer than keeping high-value slabs at home. No flood risk, no fire risk, no accidental damage from moving house or curious family members.
How Long Does Shipping Take?
When you request a withdrawal:
- Processing: A few business days once requested
- Domestic US transit: 3–7 business days once dispatched
- International transit: Usually 1–3 weeks depending on customs and carrier
Do I Need a PSA Account?
It depends on how you're participating.
Pulling directly at powerpacks.com: When you sign up at powerpacks.com, a PSA Vault is automatically created for you. No separate setup needed.
Booking a pull through Roaring Sensei's streams: When booking, you'll need to provide your PSA Collectors ID and email address. You can get these from either your powerpacks.com account, or by creating a free account at psacard.com.
Summary
The PSA Vault is the backbone of the entire Power Packs experience. It's where your card lives, where you manage it, and where you decide its future. And if you book with me, the vault-to-vault transfer means your card lands in your own account — something no other creator is currently offering.
