Why the limits matter
Most platforms truncate silently. YouTube will accept a title up to 100 characters, but search and side-rail listings cut it off well before that — the front half of your title is doing all the work. X (Twitter) post limits include link shorteners; emoji count as 2 each on some platforms but 1 on others; Twitch stream titles are 140 characters even though most creators use far fewer.
This counter is a sanity check, not a copywriter. Use it to bash a draft into the right shape before you paste it into the platform itself.
